IIDA “Sustainability” CEU Luncheon at GFC, Inc. San Antonio Headquarters
GFC, Inc. recently invited interior designers from the San Antonio area to a presentation on sustainability by Mannington’s Dave Kitts, Vice President-Environment. The event was sponsored by Mannington Commercial, Trendway Furniture, T&L Commercial and Tex-Sun Manufacturing-all companies who are deeply invested in green initiatives.
Michelle Rios, intern with the prestigious design firm Ford, Powell & Carson Architects and Planners, says attending this luncheon was a good opportunity for her. "Sustainability is important to our clients and many of our designers are LEED accredited professionals. And we’re learning more and more about how different organizations are going green-not just with their products but also with their processes," she says.
After the presentation, the designers were invited to tour the new GFC, Inc. showroom which features products from all of their sponsors. Michelle Rios liked CFO Steve Whitener’s office best. "I love the carpet and the work station-I like how flexible it is. His office is very masculine and simple."
